Love does not Seek its own.
Is there any difference in the phrase "seeks it own" and "selfishness"? I think these are essentially the same thing. "Seek its own is actually a good definition for selfishness. What is the meaning of Love does not seek its own, 1 Corinthians 13:4. Have you heard this saying from a man before, "I do not want you, my wife to work again, be a house wife". Have you asked her if she will be happy about this arrangement of yours?
The idea is that love does not focus on personal desires. It is not eager to increase possessions. True love rejoices when other's are blessed. Love does not seek to benefit itself and it is content with what it has, because its focus is on meeting the needs of the loved one. When one does not seek its own, he loves with no intention of self ambition or conceit"
We have to learn to be happy for our partner and be happy for each other. We should also learn to surprise our partners, for them to feel special and this leads to a happy relationship. Now, that is what makes love beautiful.
Very practical, God bless you.
